About the Conference

Welcome to the website for ‘Values of Childhood and Childhood Studies’, VI Conference on Childhood Studies, which will be held at the University of Oulu, Finland, 7–9 May 2014.

The Conference on Childhood Studies has established itself as a leading multidisciplinary forum for research on children and childhood in Finland. All researchers and experts working with issues related to children and childhood are welcome. In 2014 the conference focuses on the values of childhood and the value-base of childhood studies. At a time of growing economic and societal uncertainty it is increasingly important to discuss the value of childhood.
